VISCA control of EVI-D70 via easync rs-232 adapter
Sony Evi D70 Ptz Camera
I'm wondering if anyone has had success using Max to control a Sony PTZ camera (EVI-D70/D70P) via VISCA commands. I've tried a few visca related patches that are currently posted in the forum but i believe they are for a different sony ptz camera. My setup is: MacbookPro usb port --> EasySync usb to rs232 adapter --> Sony EVI-D70. I've installed the correct serial drivers and can see data going out via the TXD led on the easy sync adapter but the camera never responds. I'm not sure if the hardware is limiting the response or most likely I don't have the serial commands formatted correctly. Anyway, if anyone has a basic patch or other ideas please let me know. Picked up a 30' Visca PTZ Control Cable on ebay. My laptop doesn't have seial port so used a usb to serial cable. My laptop found the usb to serial device but put it on com9. I just went in and changed the port to com1. Love the presets.
